DreamLever is a platform for driving company-wide goals forward. Powered by a shared AI brain that your entire organization contributes to, Dreamlever helps employees with day-to-day tasks while ensuring that team goals are executed efficiently, on time, and ultimately in service to larger company initiatives.
Backstory
Setting goals is the simplest yet most effective way to drive progress. This has been empirically demonstrated, but it’s probably best shown anecdotally, as the mere existence of a target to strive toward shapes our actions subconsciously. That said, setting and executing against goals become harder as team sizes grow. Goals for oneself or a few people are easy to align, since everyone involved is close to the work and can provide updates as they happen. At the level of an entire organization, goal-setting loses effectiveness as directives grow vaguer, more cooks enter the kitchen, and coordination across execution becomes a task in itself. Teams often set large goals spanning months to years, pour significant resources into execution, and then fall short at the end because of misalignment in execution.
Project Overview
DreamLever is a platform designed to solve common problems that arise when large teams tackle large problems. DreamLever uses company-wide objectives and key results to clarify goals and identify the actions that actually move them forward. With a click, users connect their calendars and notes, giving the system granular insight into day-to-day execution of smaller tasks. This unified system lets users see progress across teams, see how projects are coming together, and flag when a goal is at risk because of speed, execution misalignment, or shifting priorities. Each user gets their own AI chief of staff, Miles, who helps them prepare for meetings, track action items, and notify them of updates on other work that affects their own. With AI supercharging output and how we think about work, it’s more important than ever to have systems in place that ensure your team is not only moving fast but in the same direction.
Unique Factors / Challenges
The two main challenges of this project were developing the product’s knowledge graph and managing integrations.
The platform’s AI brain, Miles, required a custom-built AI harness. The first reason was managing context windows at scale. As users across an organization added information to the organization’s knowledge graph, the team built a bespoke cron system to keep threads and insights from suffering context rot. The second reason was the sheer volume of data written daily. With Miles ingesting numerous batches of meeting and integration data for each user, the team built an overnight gardener per organization that processes data overnight.
Integrations were key to DreamLever because we wanted to avoid disrupting workflows. With companies and employees already bombarded by tools, we didn’t want DreamLever to feel like another platform haphazardly thrown into a company’s software suite. So, for every client we onboarded, the team built integrations with all communications and critical transaction systems. This kept platform data as up-to-date as possible while making the DreamLever user experience seamless. This led the team to enable common platforms like Google Drive & Notion, as well as industry-specific point-of-sale software.
