About me
Hi! My name is Ugonna, and I'm glad you're here!
I'm many things, but most importantly, I'm a builder and a creative. I'm flattered to have your attention, and I hope this site leaves you inspired and with more questions than answers as you dive deeper into my work, motivations, and thoughts.
I'm currently based in New York City, but keep reading to learn more about the places I've been, the things I've done, and how they've shaped who I am today.

Born to Nigerian parents in Dallas Texas, I'm the 3rd of 4 children. I always mention my family when speaking about myself, as their integral to who I am. My mother's work ethic, sister's creativity, and brother's leadership are all core pieces to my puzzle. After bouncing around Texas in my early childhood, I spent the second half of it in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Wilmington was where I began to form my own identity and interests. The combination of beaches and forest fed my love of the outdoors. More importantly, the natural beauty of the area inspired me to create. This first manifested itself through photography. Chasing the perfect shot led me to places I'd never been and more importantly drove me to connect with others with the same passion. One thing lead to another and before I knew it I was I was doing light photography and graphic design work on the side. This was my first foray into entrepreneurship and based on how much I loved it I knew it wouldn't be my last.
In college, I was deeply interested in STEM but more specifically I was fascinated about how Science and Technology shaped our interactions with one another and understanding of the world. This lead me to major in the History of Science. This discipline gave me the tools to dive into the granular details of topics like Biology and Statistics while maintaining the big picture of the "why" behind innovation and how technology can shape our societies.
This intersection of Tech & the humanities shaped my extracurricular activities and ultimately my career. A key component of every startup and company I've worked for is a strong mission-driven tie between the product and the people it serves. In my first professional experience, at Physis Investment, we helped build a financial product for young consumers keen to invest but also passionate about sustainability. After this, I co-founded my own startup called Dive. Here, we made a media sharing app for music & movie lovers that love to connect via content as much as they love to consume content. Most recently, I worked at Via transportation, a company using tech to increase access to public transit.
Regardless of its the finance, media, or transportation industry, I get excited about opportunities allowing me to strenghten the bridge between consumers, what they're passionate about, and the products they love.

I'm always looking for new ways to merge my passion for tech that brings people together with products that improve everyday life. If you're interested in collaborating on a project or just chatting, I'd love to connect!
